Public Domain Cookbooks For Content

Recipes are one of those things which are passed down from generation to generation. They’re often collected and documented in cookbooks which are abundant on public domain archives and collections like archive.org.
A truly fun and creative way to repurpose these classic collections is to create niche cookbooks from their contents.
For example, these cookbooks all have chapters devoted to cookies:
You could compile quite a wonderful cookie cookbook with these four public domain cookbooks and there are actually quite a number of cookbooks you could derive cookie recipes from.
In fact, the abundance of recipes lends itself quite nicely to volumes of books. Cookie Baking Volume 1, Volume 2 and so on. You could sell the books individually or as a packaged product.
The same theme could be followed for pies, cakes, donuts, hamburger, chicken, soup and so on. Celebrity chefs make thousands every year producing the same type of niche cookbook - “think Martha Stewart’s Cookies”. Wouldn’t it be more interesting to have a cookie cookbook with recipes from 200 years ago or cookies from countries around the world.
You may not know this… but I help find lots of hidden links just like this every week. You can find some of the great little hidden treasures by subscribing to the Public Domain Magazine. It’s that Comic Book Looking graphic over on the right… just click and subscribe!!! —>
